The Mechanical Shift Engineer will be responsible for the repair, maintenance, and servicing of heavy equipment and machinery used in mining operations, including tippers, excavators., payloaders and mine trucks
This role is crucial to ensuring the smooth operation of mining activities by minimizing equipment downtime and ensuring that all machinery is in optimal working condition.

Responsibilities

Perform repairs, maintenance, and servicing of mining equipment such as tippers, excavators, payloaders mine truck and other heavy machinery.
Diagnose and troubleshoot mechanical and electrical issues in mining equipment.
Ensure preventive maintenance is carried out on equipment to reduce the risk of breakdowns.
Use a variety of maintenance tools and equipment, including wrenches, diagnostic devices, and other specialized tools for heavy machinery.

Requirements

Candidate should possess an HND / Bachelor’s Degree.
Proven 3 – 5 years experience as a mechanic, specifically in the maintenance and repair of heavy equipment and machinery used in mining (tippers, excavators, etc.).
Strong understanding of mechanical systems, hydraulics, and electrical systems related to mining machinery.
Proficiency in the use of maintenance and diagnostic tools.
Ability to weld is an added advantage.
