We are seeking a results-driven and disciplined Head of Collections to manage and improve the debt recovery strategy for our operations in Benin.
This role will oversee the collections team, monitor repayment portfolios, and ensure efficient and ethical recovery processes while maintaining customer relationships.
Key Responsibilities
Oversee the full collections process across all accounts in the Benin region.
Develop and implement strategic plans to reduce delinquency rates and improve recovery.
Supervise and support field agents and collections officers to achieve daily, weekly, and monthly targets.
Analyze portfolio performance, aging reports, and repayment trends.
Maintain accurate records of customer interactions, payment promises, and recoveries.
Ensure all recovery activities comply with company policies and regulatory guidelines.
Work closely with the credit, risk, and operations teams to improve loan quality and minimize defaults.
Escalate high-risk accounts and recommend legal or repossession action where necessary.
Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of the collections team.
Requirements & Skills
Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Finance, Business Administration, or related field.
Minimum of 2 – 4 years’ experience in credit control, loan recovery, or debt collections.
Proven leadership experience in managing a collections team.
Strong analytical, negotiation, and interpersonal skills.
Knowledge of credit risk, loan lifecycle, and debt recovery procedures.
Must be a resident in or willing to relocate to Benin City.
