Our Client is seeking a Senior Accountant with strong financial management experience in production or commodity-based sectors.
The ideal candidate will oversee financial operations, ensure compliance, and support strategic decision-making for our farm and agro-processing units.
Key Responsibilities
Manage daily accounting operations, including cost tracking for farm inputs and produce
Prepare monthly and annual financial reports and statements
Handle inventory and fixed asset accounting
Lead tax planning and compliance with federal/state regulations
Perform cost analysis on production cycles and recommend cost-saving measures
Liaise with auditors, banks, and external partners
Supervise junior accountants and support finance training for field teams.
Handle treatments of VAT, WHT, rent, and other statutory deductions in compliance with regulatory standards.
Support internal and external audits as required.
Requirements
B.Sc./HND in Accounting, Finance, or related field
ICAN/ACCA certification (or in advanced stage)
5+ years of experience, preferably in agriculture, manufacturing, or FMCG.
Familiarity with agricultural cost structures and seasonal budgeting
Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, SAP)
Solid grasp of Nigerian tax laws and IFRS
Excellent attention to detail and strong communication skills.
