We are seeking a highly skilled Process Engineer to support the design, development, optimization, and troubleshooting of oil and gas processing systems.
The successful candidate will contribute to upstream or downstream projects, ensuring operational efficiency, safety compliance, and cost-effective production across various facilities including gas plants, refineries, and production platforms.
Key Responsibilities
Design and optimize oil and gas process systems, including separation, dehydration, compression, gas treatment, and refining.
Perform process simulations using industry-standard software (e.g., HYSYS, Aspen Plus, PRO/II).
Develop and maintain Process Flow Diagrams (PFDs), Piping and Instrumentation Diagrams (P&IDs), and Heat & Material Balances.
Size and specify process equipment (e.g., separators, heat exchangers, pumps, compressors, vessels).
Analyze and optimize separation processes, dehydration units, flare systems, gas sweetening, and other oil and gas facility components.
Support Front-End Engineering Design (FEED) and detailed engineering phases.
Conduct root cause analysis of process upsets and propose technical solutions.
Prepare and review technical reports, datasheets, operating manuals, and project documentation.
Ensure compliance with HSE standards, industry codes (API, ASME, ISO), and local regulations.
Review vendor equipment datasheets, design drawings, and technical proposals.
Support project cost estimates and timelines with process-related input.
Participate in HAZOP, SIL, and risk assessments.
Collaborate with multidisciplinary teams including operations, instrumentation, mechanical, and project teams.
Support commissioning and start-up activities for new or revamped facilities.
Qualifications & Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering with proficiency in design
3 – 7 years of experience in process engineering within the oil & gas industry (upstream, midstream, or downstream).
Proficiency in process simulation tools such as Aspen HYSYS or similar.
Strong understanding of oil & gas process operations, including thermodynamics and fluid flow.
Experience with safety studies (HAZOP, LOPA) and regulatory compliance.
Familiarity with international design codes and standards (API, ASME, IEC, etc.).
Excellent analytical, communication, and project management skills.
