Conducting assessments and research to determine system requirements.
Assessing and repairing damage caused by wind and waves.
Designing and operating systems to prevent corrosion and damage from sea creatures.
Inspecting and maintaining engines, pumps and other essential equipment,
Installing and maintaining electrical, heating and plumbing systems.
Drawing up schematics, diagrams and layouts for new systems
Testing newly designed systems and making modifications as needed
Developing project proposals that establish expected costs, timelines and potential risks
Overseeing construction projects to ensure the finished work meets all design requirements
Performing initial quality control and ongoing maintenance inspections on vessels
Drafting reports for management and sales teams
Adhering to maritime safety rules and regulations when developing new systems.
Educational Requirement/Skill & Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Marine Engineering or related field
2+ years of experience in marine engineering or related roles
Familiarity with maritime regulations.
Deep knowledge of marine systems, mechanical engineering, and maritime regulations
Excellent proficiency with CAD software (e.g., AutoCAD, SolidWorks) and marine design tools
Ability to work in challenging environments, including at sea or on rigs.
