In this crucial role, you will be responsible for ensuring the accuracy and legal soundness of our loan documentation while also actively managing and mitigating legal risks associated with loan recovery and litigation. This position demands a professional with a strong foundation in Nigerian law and significant experience in either litigation, company secretarial functions, contract review, or general legal services, ideally gained within the financial sector.
Requirements
Must be a qualified Barrister and Solicitor of the Supreme Court of Nigeria.
Minimum of 3 years of post-call experience in one or more of the following areas:
Litigation (with a focus on debt recovery or commercial litigation preferred)
Company Secretarial practice
Contract Review and Drafting
General Legal Services within a financial institution
Profound understanding of Nigerian banking laws, regulations, and lending practices.
Exceptional attention to detail and a meticulous approach to all aspects of documentation.
Strong negotiation skills with a demonstrated ability to achieve favorable resolutions.
Excellent analytical and problem-solving capabilities.
Outstanding written and verbal communication skills, with the ability to articulate complex legal issues clearly and concisely.
