Works with clients to determine initial goals and requirements for the space to be designed.
Analyzes movement and use patterns of the space.
Creating initial design sketches, color themes and ideas based on client requirements and space availability
Produce sample boards and mood boards to demonstrate preliminary designs to client.
Consults with client to select materials, furnishings, and décor pieces.
Uses design applications to prepare and illustrate final plans.
Use of necessary materials, adhering to project and budget specifications.
Oversees the installation of materials, furniture, and other design elements.
Maintains current knowledge of trends and materials, techniques, and other developments in interior design.
Performs other related duties as assigned.
Inspect design after completion to determine whether client goals have been met.
Education and Experience
Bachelor’s Degree in Interior Design or related field required; coursework in computer-aided design (CAD) highly preferred.
Interior design certification highly preferred.
At least two years of related experience required.
Must be able to distinguish between colors.
A passion for business and closing of sales.
Required Skills / Abilities:
Detail-oriented with excellent problem-solving and organizational skills.
Ability to apply a sense of style to create aesthetically pleasing interiors.
Strong visual design skills, including proportion and aesthetics
Excellent communication skills, especially in regard to communicating an artistic vision.
Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
Ability to use computer-aided design (CAD) software such as Revit, Sketchup or 3dsmax.
Proficient in Microsoft Office Suite or related software.
