We are seeking an experienced and passionate Film Production Instructor to join our team. The Instructor will be responsible for teaching students/trainees the fundamentals and advanced aspects of filmmaking, including cinematography, directing, scriptwriting, editing, and production.
The ideal candidate is a creative professional with hands-on industry experience and a passion for mentoring the next generation of filmmakers.
Key Responsibilities
Design and deliver engaging lessons on film theory, production, and practical techniques.
Teach core areas such as scriptwriting, cinematography, directing, sound, editing, and production design.
Supervise student film projects from concept development to final editing.
Provide constructive feedback to help learners develop technical and creative skills.
Stay updated with current trends, tools, and techniques in the film and media industry.
Support students in developing portfolios and preparing for professional opportunities.
Collaborate with colleagues to organize workshops, film screenings, and creative projects.
Qualifications & Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Film Studies, Mass Communication, Theatre Arts, or related field (Master’s degree is an advantage).
Proven experience working in film production (directing, editing, or cinematography).
Teaching, training, or facilitation experience (formal or informal).
Proficiency in industry-standard software such as:
Adobe Premiere Pro
Final Cut Pro
After Effects
DaVinci Resolve
Strong communication, presentation, and mentorship skills.
Ability to inspire creativity and critical thinking in students.
Knowledge of both theoretical and practical aspects of filmmaking.
Preferred:
Experience with short films, documentaries, or feature productions.
Familiarity with graphic design or animation tools (e.g., Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, Blender).
Membership in a professional film/media association.
Desirable Personal Attributes:
Passionate about storytelling and visual communication.
Patient, approachable, and adaptable teaching style.
Strong organizational and project management skills.
Team player with a collaborative spirit.
Familiarity with emerging tools such as Unreal Engine, Cinema 4D, or AI-assisted editing tools (a plus).
