The Chief Investment Officer(CIO) will be responsible for setting and executing the investment strategy of the asset management company.
The ideal role holder will lead portfolio management, research, and trading functions to drive superior investment performance across all asset classes. The role requires balancing long-term investment strategy with short-term performance targets while managing risk and ensuring compliance.
Job Responsibilities:
Develop and implementthe company’s overallinvestment philosophy and strategy.
Set asset allocation models and risk parameters in line with client objectives and market conditions.
Advise the Board and Executive Management on market trends, investment opportunities, andrisks.
Oversee the management and performance of all investment portfolios.
Monitor and adjustportfolios to achievetargeted returns and risk metrics.
Ensure consistency in the investment approach across all asset classes.
Lead and mentorthe investment and research teams,including portfolio managers, analysts, and traders.
Build a high-performance culture that fosterscollaboration, accountability, and innovation.
Supervise trading activities and ensure alignmentwith portfolio strategyand market conditions.
Ensuretrades are executed efficiently, ethically, and in compliance with relevant regulations.
Support client relationship teams with performance reporting and investment communication.
Participate in clientmeetings and presentations as needed to explain strategyand results.
Ensure investment activities comply with internalpolicies, regulatory guidelines, and fiduciary standards.
Work closely with compliance and risk management teams to monitor portfolio and market risks.
Person Specification
A Bachelor’s degreein Finance, Economics, Accounting, or a related field(required).
MBA, CFA or other advancedinvestment qualifications (stronglypreferred).
Relevant regulatory certifications/licensing (as applicable in your jurisdiction).
Minimum of 10–15years’ experience in asset or investment management.
Proven track record of leading investment teams and managing portfolios across multiple asset classes.
Experience in developing and executing investment strategies and assetallocation models.
Strong understanding of financial markets,instruments, and portfoliorisk management.
Ability to set and articulate long-term investment strategies.
Proven ability to lead and inspire investment teams.
Deep analytical skillsand ability to interpret complexdata sets.
Strong verbal and written communication skills; ability to explain complexinvestment concepts clearly.
High level of professionalism and a strongorientation to client needs.
Strong integrity, judgment,and commitment to regulatory and fiduciary responsibilities.
