We are seeking a highly skilled and detail-oriented Senior Legal Officer to join our Legal Department.
The ideal candidate will have a solid background in commercial law, regulatory compliance, and corporate governance.
You will play a key role in drafting, reviewing, and negotiating contracts, supporting regulatory and transactional matters, and advising on legal risks across the organization.
Key Responsibilities
Draft, review, and support the negotiation of a wide range of commercial contracts, particularly in construction, real estate, infrastructure, and financial services.
Manage the end-to-end contract lifecycle, ensuring proper execution, monitoring, and archiving of all legal documentation.
Conduct legal and regulatory research, and prepare well-structured summaries or memos on industry-specific laws and policies.
Assist in dispute resolution, compliance matters, and the implementation of corporate governance practices under the supervision of the Legal Manager.
Prepare and maintain legal documents, reports, correspondence, and regulatory filings with minimal supervision.
Provide legal advisory support on business transactions, including structuring, documentation, and risk assessment.
Participate in regulatory engagements and support responses to queries, notices, or compliance requests.
Collaborate with internal departments to identify and mitigate legal risks, escalating issues where appropriate.
Draft board/shareholder resolutions, manage CAC and NEPZA filings, and maintain statutory registers and records.
Support due diligence exercises, internal legal audits, and ongoing compliance monitoring activities.
