Key Responsibilities

Develop, implement, and maintain health and safety policies, procedures, and guidelines in line with company standards and legal requirements.
Conduct routine inspections and audits of vehicles, terminals, yards, and workshops to ensure safety compliance.
Carry out risk assessments and recommend appropriate control measures to eliminate or reduce risks.
Investigate all incidents, accidents, and near-misses, document findings, and implement corrective actions.
Conduct safety inductions and periodic training for drivers, mechanics, and other staff on road safety, defensive driving, use of PPE, fire safety, and emergency response.
Monitor driver behavior and compliance with speed limits, route plans, and rest schedules using tracking systems and safety tools.
Ensure compliance with road transport safety standards, especially for heavy-duty vehicles and long-haul operations.
Maintain proper records of inspections, trainings, accident reports, and compliance activities.
Liaise with government agencies and regulatory bodies (e.g., FRSC, VIO, NSC) on safety-related issues and audits.
Advise management on safety improvements, emerging risks, and best practices.
Monitor the use and availability of safety equipment such as fire extinguishers, reflective vests, etc

Requirements

Interested candidates should possess an HND / B.Sc Degree with relevant experience.
