We are seeking a highly skilled Quantity Surveyor/Cost Estimator with expertise in brownfield projects to join our team. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in cost estimation, be capable of independently arranging commercial figures, and possess a deep understanding of cost structures in brownfield operations.
Responsibilities
Develop accurate cost estimates for brownfield projects, considering material, labor, equipment, and indirect costs.
Independently prepare commercial figures, ensuring alignment with project budgets and cost control strategies.
Analyze engineering drawings, specifications, and project scopes to identify cost drivers.
Collaborate with engineering, procurement, and project management teams to validate estimates and cost assumptions.
Perform risk analysis and cost optimization, ensuring cost-effectiveness and efficiency.
Support the preparation of tender documents, proposals, and contract negotiations with vendors and subcontractors.
Track actual costs versus estimated costs and provide variance reports for continuous improvement.
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Quantity Surveying, Finance, or a related field.
5+ years of experience in cost estimation or cost engineering, particularly in brownfield projects.
Strong understanding of project cost control principles, financial modeling, and forecasting.
Ability to work independently and handle complex commercial figures with minimal supervision.
Excellent analytical, problem-solving, and communication skills.
Familiarity with contractual terms, procurement processes, and industry cost databases.
