Johnvents Foods Limited launched Johnvents Pure Cocoa Powder, an everyday beverage that provides 100% cocoa nourishment. It acquired and set up a cocoa product factory in Idanre for the production of Oluji Pure Cocoa Powder, Johnvents Chocolate drink, Cocoa Pops, Cocoa Cube, and other cocoa-based consumer products.Key Responsibilities
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance:
Conduct routine inspections, servicing, and maintenance of all factory machinery, equipment, and tools (mixers, grinders, conveyors, packaging machines, boilers, compressors, etc.).
Perform preventive maintenance (PM) to minimize breakdowns and ensure optimal equipment performance.
Troubleshoot and repair mechanical, electrical, pneumatic, and hydraulic systems.
Respond promptly to machine breakdowns, diagnose faults, and implement corrective actions.
Equipment Reliability & Downtime Reduction:
Analyze recurring machine failures and implement long-term solutions.
Work with production and engineering teams to improve equipment reliability.
Maintain a log of all maintenance activities, breakdowns, and spare parts usage.
Recommend upgrades or replacements for obsolete or faulty machinery.
Safety & Compliance:
Ensure all maintenance activities comply with food safety standards (HACCP, GMP, ISO 22000, etc.).
Follow safety protocols (LOTO – Lockout Tagout, PPE, etc.) to prevent workplace accidents.
Report and rectify potential safety hazards related to machinery and equipment.
Spare Parts & Inventory Management:
Monitor and maintain an inventory of critical spare parts.
Coordinate with procurement for timely availability of spare parts.
Recommend cost-effective alternatives for spare parts without compromising quality.
Continuous Improvement & Training:
Identify opportunities for process optimization and energy efficiency.
Participate in root cause analysis (RCA) of equipment failures.
Train junior technicians and operators in best maintenance practices.
Stay updated with new maintenance technologies and industry best practices.
Documentation & Reporting:
Maintain accurate maintenance records, including work orders, checklists, and equipment history.
Generate reports on machine performance, breakdown trends, and maintenance costs.
Additional Responsibilities:
Assist in installation and commissioning of new equipment.
Coordinate with external vendors for specialized repairs.
Support production during peak periods to ensure smooth operations.
Participate in factory audits (internal & external).
Qualifications & Skills Required
Education: Diploma or Degree in Mechanical/Electrical/Mechatronics Engineering or related field.
Experience: 3+ years in maintenance within an FMCG/food processing factory.
Technical Skills:
Proficiency in troubleshooting and repairing industrial machinery.
Knowledge of PLC systems, pneumatics, hydraulics, and conveyor systems.
Familiarity with food-grade lubricants and maintenance best practices.
