The Maintenance Engineer is responsible for ensuring that machinery, equipment, and systems within an organization operate efficiently and reliably.
This role involves proactive maintenance, troubleshooting, and continuous improvement of mechanical and electrical systems to minimize downtime and enhance productivity.
Responsibilities
Preventive Maintenance:
Develop and implement maintenance strategies to prevent equipment failures.
Schedule and conduct regular inspections and servicing of machinery and systems.
Troubleshooting and Repairs:
Diagnose mechanical and electrical issues promptly.
Perform necessary repairs or coordinate with external service providers when required.
Safety Compliance:
Ensure all maintenance activities adhere to health and safety regulations.
Promote a safe working environment by identifying and mitigating potential hazards.
Performance Evaluation:
Monitor equipment performance and implement improvements to enhance efficiency.
Utilize diagnostic tools to assess system health and preempt potential failures.
Documentation and Reporting:
Maintain accurate records of maintenance activities, repairs, and inspections.
Generate reports on equipment status and recommend necessary upgrades or replacements.
Collaboration:
Work closely with other departments to align maintenance activities with production schedules.
Provide technical support and training to staff as needed.
Requirements
Education Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in Mechanical, Electrical, or Industrial Engineering.
Master’s degree in a related engineering field.
Professional certifications is an added advantage.
Experience Required:
5 -10 years of experience in maintenance engineering or a related field.
Experience in high-volume manufacturing environments is advantageous.
