Lovonus Microfinance Bank is licensed by the Central Bank of Nigeria under the Bank & Other Financial Institution Act (BOFIA) of 1991 (as amended) and the National Microfinance Regulatory and Supervisory Framework of December 2009.

The bank was incorporated in 2010 and started operations in February 2012. Lovonus MFB provides banking services especially loans and related products to low-income, micro and small entrepreneurs who do not have adequate access to services from the country’s conventional banking institutions.

Lovonus MFB is insured by NDIC- Nigeria Deposit Insurance Corporation. We are seeking an experienced Legal Manager to oversee our legal affairs, ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements and mitigating legal risks. The ideal candidate should have a background in the microfinance sector.

Key Responsibilities:

Provide legal guidance and support to senior management and staff
Develop and implement legal strategies to minimize risks
Ensure compliance with regulatory requirements and industry standards
Manage legal documentation, contracts, and agreements
Collaborate with internal stakeholders and external counsel

Requirements:

LL.B or LL.M in Law
Membership of the Nigerian Bar Association (NBA)
Minimum 2 years of experience in the microfinance sector
Proven track record of managing legal teams and providing strategic guidance
