Jobberman Launches Free Job Skills Program for 30,000 Youth

In a major push to boost youth employability and entrepreneurship, Jobberman Nigeria has partnered with the MasterCard Foundation and The Inspired Decision to train over 30,000 young people in Akwa Ibom. The initiative, which is free and open to youth aged 18 to 35, will focus on soft skills such as emotional intelligence, time management, and job interview techniques, as well as business skills like planning, branding, and legal basics.

Jobberman’s Head of Youth Engagement said the training is designed to close Nigeria’s job-readiness gap and help more young people transition into employment or start their own ventures. He pointed out that many employers consider today’s graduates unemployable due to a lack of practical skills.

This is the second phase of the program, following an earlier nationwide effort that trained 2.3 million young people and led to 500,000 job placements. The organizers also plan to host a career fair, job clinic, and a forum promoting disability inclusion.

The initiative has already received praise from participants. A local government chairman encouraged trainees to take full advantage of the opportunity, while a fashion designer shared how the training improved her customer service and business planning.
