First-year international students will be considered for a limited number of merit scholarships. Scholarship selection is competitive based on a holistic review of SAT or ACT scores and high school marks/grades. Students must complete the OneApp scholarship application to be considered for the award.
Benefits
Award of achievement: Up to $40,000 ($5,000/yr–$10,000/yr)Award of distinction: Up to $16,000 ($2,000/yr–$4,000/yr)
First-year recipients will be funded for a maximum of eight semesters, or completion of the degree, whichever comes first.

The following criteria must be met during your Iowa State career to maintain the scholarship:
Minimum cumulative Grade Point Average (GPA) of 2.5 while enrolled at Iowa StateContinuous enrollment in a minimum of 12 semester credits each semester (summers not included)Only students assessed international tuition are eligible for this awardThe award may only be used toward undergraduate tuition and fees

To apply for the International Merit Scholarship go to the OneApp Scholarship Portal and submit the General Application; then navigate to Opportunities > Recommended > International Students Admission Scholarship Application (Choose spring or fall) and apply.
