Equipment Operator at IITA – International Institute of Tropical Agriculture

We use the R4D model in setting a research course that addresses major development problems in Africa rather than simply contributing to scientific knowledge. It has proven to be an effective mechanism for agricultural research development. We and our partners have delivered about 70% of the international research impact in sun-Saharan Africa in the last three decades.DUTIES: 

Operate tractor for mowing lawns.
Operate other earth moving equipment like Slasher, gang mower on the field.
Check the transmission level before equipment take-off.
Ensure the equipment is well taken care of.
Operate the hydraulic equipment in an efficient manner.
Perform any other job-related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION:

O’ Level certificate with a minimum of six (6) years’ experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment.
Trade Test III Certificate is an added advantage.

The ideal candidate must:

Demonstrate proven knowledge and skill in the proper operation of earth-moving equipment.
Have a strong work ethic and a commitment to task completion.
Be open to continuous learning, including the ability to learn and unlearn.
