The Rig Cementing job Supervisor is responsible for overseeing all aspects of cementing operations on drilling rigs to ensure effective wellbore integrity.
The role involves planning, supervising, and executing cementing jobs safely and efficiently, ensuring adherence to engineering design, operational standards, and HSE (Health, Safety, and Environmental) protocols
Key Responsibilities
Supervise all cementing operations on-site, including primary, remedial, squeeze, and plug cementing
Ensure proper rig-up, rig-down, and equipment maintenance.
Coordinate with drilling, completions, and fluids teams to ensure seamless operations.
Review cementing programs and engineering designs with the Technical engineer in town to ensure they align with the well plans.
Prepare and verify the cement slurry and displacement fluids formulations.
Monitor and record job parameters in real-time to ensure performance meets specifications.
Provide leadership and training to junior staff and field operators.
Ensure compliance with HSE guidelines, performing risk assessments and implementing safety measures.
Troubleshoot equipment or process issues during the job.
Liaise with third-party service providers and ensure all required resources and materials are available.
Job Specification
Degree or Diploma in Petroleum Engineering, Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Chemical Engineering, or related field preferred.
Must have 5-8 years of cementing experience in the oil & gas industry, with at least 2 years in a supervisory role using Baker or Halliburton Cement Pump Unit.
Strong understanding of down-hole hydraulics, cementing additives, and fluid displacement.
Familiarity with cementing DAS (e.g Halliburton & Baker).
Valid offshore survival, medical, and relevant safety certifications.
Strong leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
Working Conditions:
Rotational shifts on remote land rigs.
Physically demanding work in challenging weather and environmental conditions.
On-call availability during operations.
