We are seeking for a detail-oriented financial accountant to join our finance team. Your duties will include assisting with the preparation of financial records, performing basic bookkeeping tasks, and ensuring the accuracy of financial reporting to support decision-making process.
Your duties will also involve working with senior accountants and other departments to maintain compliance with regulations and internal policies.
Ultimately, the ideal candidate should have the basic knowledge of financial principles and a proactive attitude towards solving complex financial issues.
Responsibilities
Prepare and maintain accurate financial statements and reports, help to support accurate general ledger entries and compliance with company records.
Manage the accounting for loans, including recording loan origination, interest, payments, and principal balances. Ensure all loan transactions are accurately captured and reconciled.
Conduct regular audits of financial data to ensure accuracy and compliance. Monitor financial transactions and identify areas for cost reduction and efficiency improvements.
Assist in the preparation of annual budgets and periodic forecasts, providing insights into financial trends and variances
Track the performance of loan portfolios, ensuring that all loan-related transactions are correctly recorded, and interest income is accurately recognized.
Ensure compliance with tax regulations and assist in tax preparations and filing.
Prepare and present financial reports to management.
Requirements and Skills
Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related field.
Basic understanding of accounting principles and practices.
Must have completed NYSC.
Proficient with accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Microsoft Excel)
Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
Strong organizational skills and ability to multi-task.
Strong analytical skills and attention to detail.
Eagerness to learn and grow within the accounting field.
