Job Responsibilities:
Maintain accurate and up-to-date financial records including ledgers, journals, and reconciliations.
Prepare monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements and management reports.
Process supplier invoices, payments, and staff reimbursements.
Monitor customer payments and ensure timely invoicing and collections.
Reconcile account discrepancies and ensure proper allocation of transactions.
Assist in preparing annual budgets and financial forecasts.
Monitor budget variances and report on financial performance against projections.
Provide support in analyzing cost structures and suggesting cost optimization strategies.
Ensure compliance with tax laws, including VAT, withholding tax, and corporate tax.
Liaise with tax authorities and external auditors as required.
Prepare and file statutory tax returns and handle remittances.
Process payroll and ensure timely salary disbursement.
Compute statutory deductions and prepare related remittances (e.g., PAYE, pension).
Track and reconcile inventory and fixed assets.
Monitor logistics fleet expenses and depreciation schedules.
Maintain and enforce proper accounting controls and procedures.
Review and update accounting policies in line with industry best practices.
Job Requirements:
Bachelor’s degree in accounting, Finance, or related field.
Professional qualification (ACA, ACCA, or equivalent) is an added advantage.
Minimum of 1-3 years of experience in accounting, preferably in the logistics or transport industry.
Strong knowledge of accounting software (e.g., QuickBooks, Sage, SAP, or Tally).
Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and financial analysis tools.
Good understanding of tax laws and compliance in Nigeria.
Excellent attention to detail and strong analytical skills.
Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
