The Superintendent Pharmacist is responsible for overseeing all professional and regulatory aspects of the pharmacy’s operations.
This includes ensuring compliance with the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN) and other relevant bodies, managing pharmaceutical services, supervising staff, and ensuring the safe and effective dispensing of medications to patients.

Key Responsibilities
Regulatory Compliance & Governance:

Ensure full compliance with PCN, NAFDAC, NDLEA, and other statutory regulations.
Maintain up-to-date licensure and registration of the pharmacy and all relevant permits.
Ensure all professional standards and ethical practices are followed.

Dispensing & Patient Care:

Accurately dispense prescription and over-the-counter medications.
Provide patient counseling on drug use, side effects, interactions, and lifestyle modifications.
Monitor patient therapy to avoid harmful interactions or contraindications.

Inventory Management:

Oversee procurement, storage, and control of pharmaceutical products.
Ensure proper stock levels and implement stock rotation to avoid expiries.
Manage controlled drugs in line with legal and regulatory standards.

Staff Supervision & Training:

Supervise and mentor pharmacy technicians and interns.
Conduct training and ensure continuous professional development of staff.
Schedule rotas and manage workflow within the pharmacy.

Customer Service & Community Engagement:

Maintain high levels of customer satisfaction and handle patient complaints professionally.
Organize community health talks, wellness clinics, or screening campaigns as part of corporate social responsibility.

Operational Oversight:

Maintain pharmacy cleanliness and safety standards.
Ensure proper documentation, record-keeping, and reporting.
Contribute to pharmacy growth strategies and revenue optimization.

Requirements

Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from an accredited institution.
Current license from the Pharmacists Council of Nigeria (PCN).
Minimum of 2- 3 years post-NYSC experience in a retail pharmacy setting.
Strong knowledge of drug dispensing, pharmaceutical care, and regulatory requirements.
Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
Ability to use pharmacy management systems and maintain accurate records.
