We use the R4D model in setting a research course that addresses major development problems in Africa rather than simply contributing to scientific knowledge. It has proven to be an effective mechanism for agricultural research development. We and our partners have delivered about 70% of the international research impact in sun-Saharan Africa in the last three decades.DUTIES: 

Perform repair and servicing of petrol engine Etesia machines used for field operations.
Repair and service mowing machines to ensure optimal performance for field work.
Conduct routine maintenance on all related mechanical and operational equipment.
Maintain cleanliness and orderliness of the workshop and ensure proper care of tools and equipment.
Conduct quality checks on spare parts prior to use for maintenance. 
Perform any other job-related tasks as may be assigned by the supervisor.

Requirements

QUALIFICATION:

Trade Test III certificate with a minimum of six (6) years’ experience or National Diploma in Mechanical Engineering or any other related course with a minimum of two (2) years’ experience performing similar role in a well-structured environment.

COMPETENCIES:

The ideal candidate must:

Have technical knowledge of mechanical equipment like Etesia machine, Gang mower etc.
Be proficient in Petrol Engine Repairs.
Have ability to work under minimal supervision.
Be open to continuous learning, including the ability to learn and unlearn.
