Product Designer – Consumer Business at Reliance HMO

We’re a health insurance company that acts like a technology company. We’re using software, data science and telemedicine to make health insurance more affordable, easier to access and more of a delightful experienceWe are looking for a Product Designer to join our Consumer Business team at Reliance Health. In this role, you will be responsible for crafting seamless, user-centered experiences across our consumer-facing products. You will work closely with product managers, engineers, and other designers to understand user needs, identify opportunities, and deliver intuitive solutions that drive impact. 

This is a critical role focused on both user and business outcomes—balancing deep research, competitive insight, thoughtful interaction design, and clean visual execution. You’ll be joining a fast-paced, mission-driven team committed to improving access to quality healthcare in emerging markets
Collaborate with product managers, engineers, and other stakeholders to design intuitive, accessible, and impactful user experiences. 
Conduct user research to uncover pain points, opportunities, and behaviours that guide your design decisions. 
Perform competitive analysis to understand how others solve similar problems and identify gaps or opportunities for differentiation. 
Translate insights into clear user journeys, flowcharts, prototypes, and high-fidelity visuals. 
Contribute to and evolve our design system to ensure consistency across all user touchpoints. 
Run usability tests to validate design decisions and iterate based on feedback. 
Communicate your ideas clearly through documentation, presentations, and specs. 
Partner with engineering to ensure accurate and high-quality implementation. 

Requirements

3+ years of experience designing digital products (web and mobile). 
A strong portfolio that showcases your design process, systems thinking, and final results. 
Experience with tools and software like Figma, Miro, Maze, Jira, and Confluence. 
Demonstrated ability to conduct user research and apply findings to your designs. 
Experience doing competitive analysis and using insights to influence product direction. 
Solid understanding of user-centred design principles and methodologies. 
Experience collaborating with engineers for seamless design handoffs. 
Comfortable working in cross-functional teams with product and engineering. 
Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, remote-first environment. 

Nice to have:

Experience designing for healthtech, insurance, or emerging markets. 
Familiarity with design systems. 
Ability to lead or support moderated/unmoderated usability tests.
