These items among other worth over N50m (fifty million Naira), the former House of Representatives member said will help residents of the state to survive hardship brought by the lockdown of the state because of the coronavirus pandemic.

Recall that President Muhammadu Buhari, on Sunday, during the presidential broadcast on the pandemic, listed Ogun and Lagos States and the Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Abuja among states to be lockdown to contain the spread of the pandemic in the country.

Adebutu in a press statement by his organisation, Ladi Adebutu Development Organisation (LADO) signed by the media consultant, Afolabi Orekoya, said the items including 20,000 packs of 3kg garri, 200,000 pieces of hand sanitisers will be distributed across the twenty (20) local government areas in the state for the next two weeks.

The items will be distributed across the 236 wards in the state for the entire two weeks covered by the lockdown.

Adebutu noted in the news release that the donation was to complement the N100m (one hundred million Naira) donation given to the Ogun State government by his father, Sir Kessington Adebutu on behalf of his family earlier this week.

It would be recalled that the distribution of the sanitisers to market women by the LADO started on Sunday in major markets in Abeokuta, the Ogun State capital.
