His name sounds like that of an Italian-American filmmaker. He is, however, not one. Stan Rerri, a Nigerian businessman from Delta State, lives a life that is a cross between that of a Hollywood mogul and Russian oligarch. Everything about Rerri screams immodest opulence and tendency to self-advertise his other-worldly lifestyle. He simply wants you to know how lucky he is.
To many, this may spell vanity, especially when photo captions on his Facebook page are considered. One of such, showing him and two friends is captioned: “Life has been kind to us”. While that may not offend, the caption of one showing him with pals Tommey Scott, Eyo Effiong, Chucks Iroche and Farouk Saleh is unlikely to be viewed as a gem of modesty. Taken at the opening of Abuja’s Sueno: Spa, Bar and Grill on 8 June, it is immodestly or childishly (take your pick) captioned: “Kings of Abuja”.
Rerri is an expert in self-promotion. A photograph taken on his arrival in Milan, Italy, bears the caption: “2 Bentley Mulsannes, 1 Rolls Royce Ghost, 2 Merc S-550′s and an Escalade for the luggage…its that time again…We are in Miami!!”
