Our client is urgently looking for a Procurement Officer who will be responsible for sourcing, purchasing, and ensuring the timely delivery of high-quality pharmaceutical products, raw materials, equipment, and services required by the company.
The role requires strong negotiation skills, knowledge of pharmaceutical regulations, and the ability to maintain relationships with reliable vendors while ensuring cost-effectiveness and compliance with industry standards.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement procurement strategies in line with the company’s pharmaceutical needs.
Source, evaluate, and negotiate with suppliers to ensure the best quality, price, and timely delivery of goods.
Ensure all purchased pharmaceutical products, raw materials, and equipment meet regulatory and quality standards.
Maintain accurate records of purchases, pricing, supplier agreements, and inventory.
Monitor stock levels and coordinate with the store/warehouse team to avoid shortages or overstocking.
Establish and maintain relationships with reliable vendors and suppliers.
Ensure compliance with procurement policies, ethical standards, and relevant pharmaceutical regulations.
Prepare and present procurement reports to management.
Work closely with quality assurance, finance, and operations teams to ensure smooth procurement processes.
Stay updated on industry trends, new suppliers, and regulatory requirements in the pharmaceutical sector.
Requirements
B.Sc in Pharmacy, Procurement, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
3-4 years’ experience in procurement, preferably in the pharmaceutical or healthcare industry.
Knowledge of pharmaceutical products, medical supplies, and regulatory standards (e.g., NAFDAC, WHO).
Strong negotiation, vendor management, and contract management skills.
Proficiency in MS Office and procurement/supply chain software.
Excellent analytical, organizational, and communication skills.
High level of integrity, attention to detail, and ability to work under pressure.
