The Logistics Officer ensures the efficient planning, coordination, and execution of furniture deliveries.
The role focuses on optimizing logistics operations to ensure timely delivery of furniture, reducing costs, and maintaining high levels of customer satisfaction.
Key Responsibilities
Ensures seamless route planning to ensure timely delivery and cut down delivery costs
Communicates with clients on the delivery of their furniture and post delivery feedback.
Supervise logistics staff and manage storage, movement, and tracking of furniture.
Plan and oversee dispatch schedules to ensure timely delivery to customers, showrooms, or project sites.
Liaise with production, sales, and procurement teams to align delivery timeliness.
Coordinate with external transporters for inbound and outbound shipments.
Negotiate delivery timelines, rates, and service terms where applicable.
Prepare delivery notes, shipping documents, waybills, and stock reports.
Track deliveries, returns, and inventory changes using ERP or logistics management software.
Ensure adherence to safety regulations during handling, storage, and transportation of furniture.
Education & Experience Requirements:
Bachelor’s Degree or HND in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field
3 – 4 years of experience in logistics or supply chain operations, preferably in a furniture or manufacturing environment
Experience with ERP or logistics platforms is an advantage.
