Administering the College Library and providing Library services to the entire College community, reporting to the Provost on the day-to-day administration of the library department.
Qualifications and Experience
Must possess a good Bachelor’s Degree with a Master in Library Science (MLS) from a recognised Institution of Higher Learning with at least 15 years of Cognate experience and registration with a Professional Library body. OR
A Ph.D in Library and Information Science with at least 12 years cognate (work) experience and evidence of registration with a professional library body.
Must possess proficiency in Information and Communication Technology (ICT).
Must present evidence of sound human relations, professional competence, industrial integrity, and efficient material resources management.
Must have been a Chief Librarian or Deputy College Librarian for a period of not less than five (5) years in a College of Education system.
Must show evidence of substantial contribution to knowledge through research and scholarly publications in reputable journals equivalent to that of a Chief Lecturer
Other Requirements:
Candidates must not be more than 59 years old at the time of taking up the appointment.
