The noble idea to establish a State University in Borno State was first thought of by the administration of Sen. Ali Modu Sheriff which was actualized by Honorable Kashim Shettima, the former Executive Governor of Borno State 2011-2019. The Government clearly expressed its determination to provide sound and qualitative education in the state. It aimed at establishing a good tertiary institution for thousands of our Senior Secondary School Certificate holders at a time of stiff competition for admissions into institutions of higher learning to which Borno State is a catchment area and host community.Requirements
Candidates must be holders of relevant Bachelor’s, Master’s and Ph.D degrees from recognized Universities with at least ten (10) years teaching, research and administrative experience in a recognized University.
Candidates must possess demonstrable competence to provide academic leadership in his/her academic discipline.
Candidates must also be specialists in advertised fields of study with evidence of at least fifteen (15) scholarly publications in learned, academic and peer reviewed journals in University and apex research/training institutes, plus evidence of successful supervision of at least five (5) Postgraduate dissertation and Thesis Master’s / Ph.D Degree.
Candidates must also provide evidence of community service and be registered or registrable with the relevant professional/scientific bodies as applicable.
Candidates must also have evidence of NYSC discharge or exemption certificate.
