Africa Diving Services Limited (ADS) formed in 2010 became fully operational in January 2012. The Company was conceived and equity financed by Nigerian Investors to offer to clients a fully compliant company satisfying all Nigerian Content Legislation including cooperation agreements for operations with other fully Nigerian Compliant companies as recommended by the NCDMB. ADS also utilises Nigerian companies administratively also, including but not limited to, Banking / Medical / Insurance, etc.
Job Description

The Welder is a professional responsible for assembling pieces of metal or repairing damage in components using heavy machinery that emits high heat, melting the metals

Key Responsibilities

Reading Blueprints and Specifications: They interpret technical drawings and specifications to determine the welding requirements for a specific project.
Preparing Materials: Welders set up equipment, prepare materials, and ensure they are ready for the welding process.
Quality Control: They inspect welded joints to ensure they meet quality standards and specifications.
Equipment Maintenance: Welders maintain and repair their welding equipment to ensure optimal performance.
Safety Compliance: They adhere to safety protocols and procedures to create a safe working environment.
Troubleshooting: Welders collaborate with team members to resolve welding issues and ensure the project is completed successfully.
Joining Metal: Welders use various methods to fuse metal pieces together, including arc welding, TIG, and MIG welding.

Essential Skills

Technical Skills: Proficiency in different welding techniques, knowledge of welding equipment, and the ability to read blueprints.
Physical Stamina: Welding can be physically demanding, requiring the ability to handle tools and materials, work in various positions, and potentially work at heights.
Attention to Detail: Precision and accuracy are crucial for creating strong and reliable welds.
Problem-Solving: Welders need to be able to troubleshoot issues that may arise during the welding process.
Safety Awareness: A strong understanding of safety procedures and the ability to work safely are essential.

Personal requirements:

Must be Male
Must be educated and able to read,write and communicate effectively in english
Must be between the ages of 21-50

Other Requirements below:

Proven experience as a welder
Experience using a variety of welding equipment and procedures (TIG, MMA etc.)
Experience in using electrical or manual tools (saws, squares, calipers etc.)
Ability to read and interpret technical documents and drawings
Knowledge of relative safety standards and willingness to use protective clothing (face-shield, gloves etc.)
Deftness and attention to detail.
Professional Certification.
