University of Alberta Graduate Scholarship 2025.

The Programmable Integrated Sensors and Microsystems (PRISM) Lab in the Department of Mechanical Engineering at the University of Alberta is seeking outstanding PhD/Master’s students as of July 2025. The goal of the project is to develop high-resolution microfabricationprocesses for microsystems including flexible sensors and liquid metal microfluidic systems.

Work EnvironmentDr. Pegah Pezeshkpour, Director of the PRISM Lab, leads interdisciplinary research at the interface of engineering and materials science to develop scalable and reconfigurable microsystems using advanced microfabrication processes and novel materials for applications in health, energy monitoring devices, and assistive technologies. Lab members have access to state-of-the-art fabrication, testing, and characterization facilities in a collaborative research environment.

Requirements

A completed Master’s/Bachelor of Science (or Engineering) degree in Materials Science and Engineering, Electrical Engineering, and Mechanical EngineeringKeen interest in, and/or experience (research, industrial) in the fabrication of microsystemsProven ability to work independently and as a team player, with strong problem solving skillsEffective written and verbal communication skills
