The Office of the Speaker of the House of Representatives supported by Gender Mobile Initiative, invites experienced Mentors and Legal experts to support young Women in shaping Legislative/Policy reforms at the Women’s Policy Action Lab. (WPAL) in commemoration of International Women’s Day 2025.
WPAL is designed to “ACCELERATE ACTION” on Gender equality by engaging 50 young Women in drafting practical Legislative proposals that address critical issues affecting women in Nigeria. We therefore, seek Legal experts, Policymakers, Gender advocates, and experienced professionals to mentor teams, guide them through Legal analysis, and help refine their Policy recommendations.
If you are passionate about Gender justice, Legislative advocacy, and capacity building, we encourage you to apply to be a WLAP Mentor.
Eligibility Criteria
2. Expertise in Gender-related Laws and Policies in Nigeria
3. Strong analytical and research skills
4. Ability to guide young participants in developing Legislative solutions
5. Availability to physically attend the full-day Policy Lab. in Abuja & virtual pre-event sessions with the team.
Roles & Responsibilities
2. Provide Legal guidance and technical support for Legislative drafting
3. Offer feedback and strategic insights to refine Policy recommendations
4. Assist in preparing teams for their final presentations to the Rt. Honorable Speaker and other stakeholders.
5. Contribute to shaping actionable Legal and Policy reforms.
