Job Description
We are seeking a passionate and knowledgeable Mathematics and Computer Science Teacher to join our educational institution in Benin City, Nigeria. The ideal candidate will inspire and educate students in both mathematics and computer science, fostering a love for these subjects and preparing students for future academic and career success.
Develop and deliver engaging lesson plans in mathematics and computer science for students at various grade levels
Teach a range of mathematical concepts, from basic arithmetic to advanced calculus
Instruct students in computer science fundamentals, programming languages, and software development
Create and maintain a positive, inclusive learning environment that encourages student participation and growth
Assess student performance through assignments, projects, and exams
Provide constructive feedback and additional support to students as needed
Collaborate with other teachers and staff to enhance curriculum and teaching methods
Stay updated on the latest trends and advancements in mathematics and computer science education
Participate in parent-teacher conferences and school events
Maintain accurate records of student progress and attendance
Qualifications
Bachelor’s degree in Mathematics, Computer Science, or a related field
Valid teaching certification
Strong knowledge of mathematics and computer science concepts
Excellent communication and presentation skills
Demonstrated ability to create engaging and effective lesson plans
Strong classroom management skills
Familiarity with educational technology and its application in the classroom
Up-to-date knowledge of mathematics and computer science trends in education
Understanding of educational theories and best practices
Previous teaching experience preferred
Experience in curriculum development is a plus
Ability to work collaboratively with other teachers and staff members
Patience, creativity, and enthusiasm for working with students
