As the Freight Forwarding & International Shipping Manager will be responsible for managing and optimizing our international shipping and logistics operations.
This role includes coordinating shipments, ensuring compliance with international trade regulations, and improving supply chain efficiency to support the company’s growth objectives.
The ideal candidate will be responsible for ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery of shipments, managing all aspects of export documentation, handling customs clearance processes, and maintaining compliance with international trade regulations.
What You Will Be Doing
Shipment Coordination
Plan and coordinate international shipments, ensuring timely and cost-effective delivery
Arrange transport logistics for air, sea, and land freight.
Documentation Management:
Prepare and manage export documentation, including invoices, bills of lading, and shipping declarations.
Ensure compliance with customs regulations and international trade laws.
Customs Clearance:
Handle customs clearance processes, including tariff classifications, duty payments, and inspections.
Liaise with customs authorities to resolve any issues that arise.
Cost Management:
Negotiate freight rates with carriers and manage cost control measures.
Prepare cost estimates and invoices for clients.
Compliance and Risk Management:
Ensure all activities comply with international trade regulations and company policies.
Identify and mitigate potential risks related to freight forwarding and export activities.
Logistics Coordination:
Oversee warehousing, storage, and distribution of goods.
Coordinate with internal teams to ensure efficient handling of shipments.
Requirements Special Skills And Qualifications
Minimum of 10 years experience in Freight forwarding, International shipping and logistics management.
Bachelor’s degree in any supply chain related field.
Experience in handling cross border operations – including freight forwarding, linehaul, customs clearing, export/import regulations, cargo regulations for air and sea freight.
In-depth knowledge of export regulations, customs procedures, and compliance requirements
Professional certification in logistics or international shipping is a plus.
Strong knowledge of international trade regulations and customs procedures
Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite.
Excellent organizational and multitasking abilities.
Effective negotiation and communication skills.
Ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
