Coordinate with scrap supervisor for receiving raw material as per production plan
Slag samples and adjust fluxes as necessary.
Takes temperature tests and samples as required
Grades temperature required for casting, and oversee preparation of furnace as per prescribe guidelines
Examine furnace after each heat to determine the condition of refractories, water-cooled panels, roof, burners, and make necessary repairs
Supervise magnet crane operator, bariman and chargers and provide guidance as required from the parts
Qualifications
Diploma in Metallurgy or related field
6 – 10 years’ experience
Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written
Strong problem-solving abilities and attention to detail.
